What can we do in our school to promote healthy eating?
If the school only stocked healthy eating options in the tuck shop then the students would only have healthy options to choose from. Stop selling soft drinks and things like chips in the tuck shop and cafe so that the students can eat healthy food. Kids need to talk to their parents about healthy options for lunch and start packing their own lunch boxes with healthy food. Food that is full of sugar and fat is no good for your teeth and your bodies. When you go shopping with your parents, don't choose the muesli bars to have a snacks, choose a piece of fruit or a vegetable instead.

What physical activity do we partake in to promote a healthy lifestyle?
We go out and play at break times and we have P.E. lessons as well. We also go outside and play sport on a Friday afternoon. Many kids also do activities outside of school hours. Some people do martial arts, some do dancing, some play soccer or futsal or netball or other group sports.
At the end on the term, the grade 6 students play a big sports game against the teachers as well. We also have a big school so we walk around to different areas throughout the day. We have sports carnivals and swimming carnivals throughout the year as well.

What role do farmers play in promoting a healthy lifestyle?
Farmers live a physical, active life. When Annicka came and talked to us about what she and her brother and her parents do on the farm, it seemed like they were always standing or walking around. There was no activity that she said that they did sitting down (except maybe driving the trucks to deliver the vegetables to the market). She showed us pictures of her brother mixing the cocopeat with the foam and the nutrients and he looked like it was really hard work. then they walk along all of the rows of lettuce and check them and pick them and pack them. Watching a farmer, it looks like hard, physical work and I think that we should all get out into our gardens and start to grow some vegetables that we can use in our recipes and eat.

How do farmers help to feed the nation?
Australia has about 1325, 000 farmers. We use a lot of the produce here in Australia but we also export about 65% of the produce that our farmers produce. Fruit, nuts and vegetables are among our lowest exports with beef and wheat being our biggest exports. 1 in 7 jobs are in the agricultural industry in Australia. Without the farmers and the people that work on the farms, Australia would have to import all of our food and many people would have to find jobs in other places. As our population continues to grow, can we really keep up with feeding that many people? We can if we are smart and start looking after our farmers and trying to help them when there is a drought like there is at the moment. We need to stop wasting so much food so that the food that we produce can feed more people and we need to change how we eat and not eat such large meals, or stop eating so much junk food and start eating fresh food that is produced on our farms.
